NOTE: Though Missing Carlo is NOT a Food Blog, I just felt that I have to post my Thank You entry here

Last year, this blog was recognized as one of the Emerging Influential Blogs of 2008. Missing Carlo received a lot of nomination mostly from parents of special children. I do admit that I was rather active last year compared to now. I can say that in a way, I have moved on from the loneliness that Carlo’s moving out caused me. This blog also inspired me to write, produce and direct a short film called Kuya Bunso, which is now on its post-production stage.

Anyway, I am happy to inform you guys that Patay Gutom, the group food blog where I am an active member, was recognized as one of the Emerging Influential Blogs of 2009! The awards night took place last August 8. Too bad I wasn’t able to attend because I was in Cebu. However, the PG Respondents led by Jehz were there to receive the award. My dear Nyokers Winston and Ada were included in the list too.

If only Carlo was here, I have a feeling that I will be blogging about our food trips at Patay Gutom every week. Carlo loves to eat and Ate Mica loves to see her little brother enjoying his favorite meal. Most probably, Jollibee, McDo, KFC and Greenwich is included on my PG posts.

I am happy to be a part of this project for two consecutive years. Up to this day, I am still receiving some emails from parents who are asking for help and support. I would like to take this chance to apologize just in case I am not responding to the emails. For those who are looking for SPED Schools in the Philippines, you can refer to the comments section of my post written last year.

Btw, I saw this video a few nights ago. Here’s a video taken during the Emerging Influential Blogs of 2009 awards night where Jehz, Winston and Fitz explained the concept of the food blog. Jehz even mentioned my name at the last part blaming me for something haha

I was unsure if I should still go to the awards night since I cried before taking the cab, but thank God I still went to the Emerging Influential Blogs of 2008 awards night at the Legend Villas.

I was late and I am happy to see a lot of old and new bloggers in the hall. I know that some of them came from their workplace or from school. Finally, I managed to smile

Being included in the Emerging Influential Blogs of 2008 is an honor for me and the rest of the winners. As I browse through the list, I was amazed because each of the blogs represents a certain niche, and I am happy that my journey as a sister to Carlo somewhat touched other people’s hearts. I would like to repost some of the reasons of those who nominated for this blog, but I’ll just print it out and keep it.

Just like as  what I’ve said in my short speech last monday, I was emotional in the early part of this year because of Carlo’s departure. Oh my, it’s been five months? Writing in this blog somewhat helped me release whatever i feel inside and reading the comments and emails from parents and siblings who dropped by in this blog somewhat made me feel happy that in a way, I was able to make them realize that having a special child in the family is not a burden, but a gift.

My passion for writing and sharing what I know and feel about Carlo’s condition contributed a lot on why I gained a spot in the list. My love for him is unconditional. How I wish he was here with me when I received the award:

Angel Juares a.k.a. Bleue is also one of the writers of Visit Sagada. He is also blogging about his personal travel experiences in lakwatsero.com. What I love about his blog is that he exerts an effort in posting quality pictures and he is sharing his experiences without any qualms. My personal favorite is his entry about Culion, Palawan. You will know why soon. Bleue really loves to travel. Isa siyang tunay na lakwatsero. Another thing that I like about him is that he is a good man indeed.

Nabigla na lang ako ng isang araw ay meron nag-comment dito sa blog na ito na ang avatar ay ang larawan ni Sam Milby na may bandila ng Pilipinas. Aking pinuntahan ang kanyang blog at natuwa dahil muli, ako’y nakakita ng blog ng isang OFW na gumagamit ng wikang pambansa sa pagbblog. Karamihan ng entries niya ay may humor touch, pero may sense. Dito ko napagtanto na ang mga OFW ay hindi nagrerelax sa ibang bansa. Kumakayod sila para sa kanilang pamilya dito sa Pilipinas kaya dapat tayo’y magpasalamat at huwag gumawa ng mga bagay na ikakalungkot nila. Sino kaya si Sam Juan? Maybe you ask “Why him? he is not an active blogger!” Well, this celebrity doctor is more than just every girl’s dream boy. He may not update his Multiply blog often, but he makes it a point to inspire his fans by posting some of his realizations and the lessons he learned during the day. Some people might be intimidated with his presence, but the guy is actually a good man in real life. I know a number of his Multiply friends who asks for advice from him and one of them even named her baby after him. I am hoping that he blogs on a regular basis though.

Shoot Me by Maki Eduardo

My dear friend and co-powerpuff girl Maki Eduardo might have closed her personal blog due to some problems, but she’s not quitting in blogging at all. She recently launched her own photoblog where she’s posting some of her shots on a regular basis. She is really into photography and she takes this craft seriously by attending workshops and by taking lotsa lotsa pics. I do believe in her talent and nominating her in this project can help her gain some exposure as a serious photoblogger.

Bloggers Da Who by AJ Matela

Due to the guessing game about bloggers on Twitter last April, AJ of BaklaAko.com launched a new blog called “Bloggers Da Who”, the one and only blind item stop for bloggers. The good thing about the blog is that AJ is not really giving direct clues and the guests are not allowed to comment. The purpose of the blog is not really to insult or embarrass the blogger concerned in the BI. Instead, the blog reminds everyone to be careful with our actions and just in case you feel guilty about the latest entry, just learn from it and do not repeat that wrong action ever again.
