There are the photos attached in the email. I really can’t believe my baby brother is now in his puberty stage! Good-looking guy, isn’t he?

I received a forwarded email from my grandfather this afternoon. Sharon, Carlo’s teacher is constantly sending updates about him and we are really happy about it. I really smiled when I saw the attached photos of my brother taken during a bowling event. Oh my, my brother is no longer a kid!

Here’s the message of Carlo’s teacher:

Hi Mr Rodriguez,
Thank you for the pictures we printed them off for Carlos he smiled when he saw the pictures of yourself and your wife. He gave Micas’ pictures a kiss and then put them all in our cupboard under some books. We are not sure why he put them there we think he probably thought that was a safe place for them. Today I showed him the picture of you and told him who we were writing to.

 Carlos has certainly grown since he came here last May, we all thought he had but seeing those pictures you can really see how tall he has become and how much slimmer he is, he is now looking so grown up.

 I have attached a photo of Carlos take on 13th Feb when we went on a class treat day to the local bowling alley. Carlos had a great time he was jumping around everywhere, I was worried a couple of times that the bowling ball was going to go in the wrong direction but he managed to do it ok. He waited patiently for his turn and played the whole game. He did enjoy taking different members of staff up to the coffee bar and taking sachets of sugar and bringing them back to his seat. He certainly makes us smile everyday.

My little brother is now a teenager. I wonder how tall he is. 

I miss you Carlobobet!

I was a bit surprised upon seeing his pictures. My brother is no longer a baby! He about to enter his adolescent stage!

It seems like Carlo has a long hair now. I am not really comfortable looking at him with this hairstyle, but he is still cute

My mom called us up this morning to inform us that Carlo is for three days already. Yaya Virgie is sick too.

When Carlo is not feeling well, he would approach any one of us and ask for “biogesic” and “paracetamol”. He usually stays on our room and sleep as much as he can. He would bring one pitcher of water and a glass because he really drinks a lot. When he’s feeling a bit better, he would go to the sala and watch tv.

What I noticed about my brother is that he really makes an effort to dress up for school when he knows that it is his schedule for school. Unlike most kids out there, Carlo really loves to go to school and he hates it whenever he learns that his class is postponed.

And he hasn’t changed at all. Mom told me that Carlo woke up at 6am even if he’s not really feeling well. He took a bath, ate his breakfast, dressed up and waited for the taxi. Mom wanted him to be absent and just stay at home on the first day of his sickness,  but Carlo insisted that he must attend his class. My brother deserves a “Best in Attendance” award I bet his teachers are happy with his eagerness to go to school.

Anyway, there is a big possibility that I’ll be working as a part-time instructor soon. I am thinking of giving incentives to those who will perfect their attendance in my class (if ever).

I received a call from Mom last week and she informed us about Carlo’s latest developments. She gladly informed me that Carlo is now loosing weight the natural way.

I remember when Carlo was still here, I had several attempts of teaching him the proper way to exercise. He would imitate me in the first part, then he’ll just laugh or simply just stop.

He also loves playing with any kind of ball – Jackstone Balls, Pingpong Balls and yes, Basketball.

I wanted to teach him how, but I am not a good basketball player myself. We would end up just playing “pass the ball”. I once taught him how to dribble, but he ended up laughing and grabbing the ball from me. He ends up just making the ball jump, not really dribble the Micheal Jordan way.

According to Carlo’s teacher, he plays basketball with his other classmates. He now knows how to dribble the proper way (thanks to the PE teacher for patiently teaching him) and he can even shoot the ball in the basket!

I myself admit that Sports is not really my thing. I am happy that Carlo is now interested in developing his skills in this field. Through this activity, he will learn more techniques, appreciate sports and yes, he will lose some weight! hurray!
